I Love Me Some Carrie!

This adorable, sweet, funny girl makes me smile and laugh EVERYDAY!!!  We recently took a trip to Utah and were staying with some friends.  I had told the girls that it was shower time.  Carrie came running down the stairs and was rubbing her eyes when she came into the bathroom.  I asked her if she was ok and she replied...."Yep, I just have breakfast eyes."  (You know, the little crusties you get after a night of sleep??)

Seriously hilarious!  I love the things that she says!!!!

Boise Idaho Temple Open House

Last night I had the opportunity to complete my 2nd shift of being a Tour Guide at the Boise Idaho Temple Open House.  What a magnificent, beautiful temple.  The craftsmanship and detail is breathtaking.  The pictures depicting the life of Christ and His teachings are beyond words.  (A few of which I would like to bring home!)

While being a Tour Guide I have had the opportunity to lead speaking and silent tours.  During which, the Spirit of the Lord was felt in the all who attended...members of our faith or not.  It is a truely amazing experience to be involved in such a wonderful event.

One of my favorite parts is after seeing all of the the other rooms and hallways on the tour, and learning of their purpose and significance, and enjoying their beauty and splendor, entering into the Celestial Room where 2-3 minutes are spent in silence.  COMPLETE SILENCE.  I always hurry around to the doors where we will exit and quickly turn around to be able to witness people's faces as they see they beauty of the room and to see their expressions as they contemplate their own personal journey of faith.  I promise you that there has not been ONE time in that room that my eyes have not teared up.  It is beautiful to see people react to that room.

My husband had the opportunity to be the usher in the Celestial Room last night and spent 3 hours there.  He commented how special that experience was as he will probably never again have the chance to spend 3 entire hours in the Celestial Room.  He shared some of his special experiences with me that were so beautiful, but one I would like to share with you.  There were several little girls who came through with their family and after spending their time in the Celestial Room were exiting throught the door where he was standing.  One little girl about the age of 10 or 11 was looking out the door being able to see a long stretch of chandeliers and lights and said with a bright beaming smile, "This makes me feel like a princess."  To a man who has 4 daughters, this truely touched his heart.

I have had in my life many experiences that have changed my life and changed me spiritually a few are very SPECIFIC experiences and opportunities.  One was my service in the Primary in the Caldwell 8th Ward, this was an experience that spanned over a few years.  The second has been my service in the Mountain View Ward Primary and is still ongoing, the third, the opportunity I had to speak in our Stake Conference 6 months ago, and the fourth...being in the Boise Idaho Temple Open House.  The Spirit is there, it is strong.  People's minds and hearts WILL be changed about our faith and what we believe and even perhaps their own.  People will desire to know more and will crave to keep the feeling that they felt in the temple.

As a tour guide I have the opportunity to share a brief testimony of the temple with the visitors, usually in the Instruction Room prior to entering the Celestial Room.

"I am so thankful for this beautiful temple.  The temple is a place of great importance to me.  It is a place where I can come to meditate and contemplate.  It is a place of peace where I can come to escape the noise of the world.  Even though there is a freeway just outside these walls, all you hear is silence and peace.  The children sing a song about the temple.  They sing, "for the temple is a holy place, a place of love and beauty."  I hope that you have felt the love that resides inside these temple walls as I have.  I hope that you have felt the love of our Heavenly Father and our Savior.  And I hope that you have felt of the peace the temple provides."

Take your families, old and young.  Take your friends, members of our church and those of other faiths.  Go by yourself.  JUST GO.  You will be sad if you miss this opportunity, there is a place in your heart that is waiting to be filled with the Spirit that the temple has to offer.

I love my faith, I love my family, I love the temple.  I love ETERNAL families and the promise of ETERNAL life.  Most of all I love my Savior and Redeemer.  He makes all of these precious gifts possible.

{Believe me, these views are a million times more spectacular in person!}

THE ABSOLUTE BEST SHOW ON T.V.!!!!!  If you haven't watched should check it out.  This show makes me laugh, smile, think, and tear up every single episode!  The characters are lovable and real and the story lines are so relatable to anyone's life.  They have happiness and struggles and my very most favorite part is that they are all so close to eachother and have such beautiful relationships together.  They are always talking about how important their family is to them and I so LOVE that in a world where that is not alway the case.  They love eachother and they fight with eachother and they know eachothers strengths and triumphs as well as their weaknesses and hardships.  The writers of this show truely capture the beauty of what being a family is all about!  I so love my families, and hope that we can all be as close as the Bravermans.  (Even if it does mean we are all nosey and know eachother's business.)

The Johnson Clan, unfortunately missing David and Kevin.

The Cutler Clan, a million years ago, missing, Mia, Carrie, Callie, Emerson, Cade, Hallie, Lillie, Henry.  OK guys, I think that we really all need to get together in one place and get a new photo!
My Cutler Clan...I love all of these crazy little people so much!!!  And I love the big person so much that words could never even say.  Thanks for being my family!!!!!

My little Callie-Ballie Bug

Callie and I are really enjoying our time together while all "Da Guys" are at "Schooa".  We have snuggled, played, made messes (I will let you guess who actually made them and who actually cleaned them up), spent an ENTIRE 2.5 hours at the D.I. "What Not To Wear" style.  What a trooper that girl was, she would look at something and say, "Oh, dis is amazeen".

She was HILARIOUS!!  And, we found some awesome stuff!  You can do that at a thrift shop if you look hard enough...I am talking original tags on some!!!!!

I love her, even amidst all of her shenanigans and just plain naughtiness!

She is truely a delight.

It's Soccer Time

Mia has been playing YMCA soccer again this year.  And, tearin' up the field!  What a difference from her depleated, tired diabetes ridden and we didn't know it body to her now filled with insulin, energy and competetive drive body!!!  Here's the son we'll never have!  She is doing a GREAT job out there.  We are enjoying seeing her have a great time getting after that ball!

Oh Miss Janice, You are a GENIOUS!

One more kiddo off to Miss Janice's more kiddo delighted beyond belief to go learn with her new found friends, one more momma, pleased as punch that she is so.darn.happy!

I am always telling my girls how much happier they are when they have come home from a day of learning.  That is surely the truth.  I know that I may be a little over zealously happy about school...but it is truely because they are happier when they are using those curious little brains and it is someone other than me all of the time encouraging them to do so!

Sweet Kids Day Camp

Mia was able to attend the Sweet Kids Day Camp put on by the Humphrey's Diabetes Center.  It was such a fantastic positive experience for her!

She was able to go all day for 3 days and play games and do activities, learn about taking care of herself and her diabetes, and meet LOTS of other kids...JUST LIKE HER!

On the last day they have a parent group where I was able to go and learn so many wonderful things with parents...JUST LIKE ME!  It was so validating to hear other parents have the same concerns and frustrations as I do.

I am so very thankful for the AMAZING jof they did putting this on!  Way to go Alyssa and Anna! (They are Mia's dietitian and nurse at the HDC.)

Mia in her Monkey face paint after the last day trip to the Zoo and a clown back at camp!

Happy Birthday Maddie!

Oh, my!!!  I cannot believe that my baby is 9 years old!  These past 9 years have flown makes me nervous to think about how fast the next 9 will go.  Then, she really won't be my baby anymore.  She will leave me and go off to college and be a real live big person...and...well...let's not think about that!

Maddie is a...
...lover of books!  She reads and reads... sometimes I worry that her eyeballs may fall out!

...thinker and builder.  She loves to build things with Gramma Cutler's lincoln logs, draw fancy and intricate pictures, and think up all kinds of projects for me to do or sew.

...swimmer!!!  She loves to swim and has spent countless hours in the pool this summer.

...growing girl.  I am pretty sure that I will have to buy 4 sets of pants for school. This girl is a growin'!  And by all of the leg aches and growing pains I am sure that she will be 6 feet tall by sixth grade.  OK, well, probably not but it seems that way!  She is becoming quite the beautiful young girl.  I love her gorgeous brown hair that is the most perfect shade of darks and highlights...and after a night of wild sleep hair tangling a simple brushing and it is suddenly beautiful!  I love her GIANT sparkly brown eyes that light up when she smiles and has done something she is proud of or thought of her next great and genious idea!

I love my little baby girl who was always so easy going, never (and I am not even kidding) threw a terrible toddler tantrum, and who seems to be a delightful student at all times!!!

(Now, I will have to save all of the crazy, post for another day!)

Happy Birthday darling girl!!!!!  I love you so much it hurts sometimes!

Sydnie spoiled us with a fancy butterfly farm this spring....I am pretty sure that I was more excited and intrigued than the children were...oh, and fascinated!!

The caterpillars came in the mail in a little jar where they ate "Frass" to their little hearts content.

Then, they formed into a crysalis and hung from the top of the jar for 2 days.

Here is what they look like when they are all formed.  Once they have all been in this stage for the 2 days, we transferred the paper and crysali to the top of the butterfly farm.

They stayed in this stage for about 10 days.....then one morning while I was getting breakfast I heard fluttering inside and I about had a heartattack!  They had emmerged!!  They were so beautiful.  We even happened to catch one as it was coming out of the crysalis.  It was such a fast and amazing process!!  We really enjoyed watching them fly around and play for the next few weeks.

They eat sugar water or sugary fruits.  We also put in some carnations.  (They seemed to prefer the sugar water.)

We released them by the marigolds so that they would have lots of nectar to drink!!  We had such a fun time with this spring/summer science project....I think that we will have to do it again next year!

Lunar Eclipse

My dear Aunt Sydnie is a bit of an astronomy guru!!  She is always telling us about spectacular events in the sky.  She brought over an oh so fancy lunar eclipse viewing box....and fun ensued!!  The Bishop Clan came to join in on the festivities....we had so much fun!

Spring Break

We had the best Spring Break! We played and played, the girls didn't fight....until about 3 pm the Sunday before school started again. We enjoyed sunshine, although in spurts! We took advantage with bike rides and playing in the backyard.

Ryan was able to take a few days off and we went on a day trip to Twin Falls. We went to the Fish Hatchery, Malad Gorge, Balanced Rock and of course Shoshone Falls. The girls had a great time, even hiked to Balanced Rock in the rain! (I politely volunteered to stay in the car with Callie.)

We ate at the YUMMIEST place called The Burnt Lemon Grill. I would seriously drive to Twin and back just to eat there. It was AWESOME!!!
